Alien and Aliens are probably the greatest orginal and sequel horror/action films in cinematic history. The stories of body horror, corporate paranoia and machinations, and human survival has connected with filmgoers since 1979 when the first film premiered.
While film fans have been less than enamored with all of the sequels after Aliens, the IP is still wildly popular. 1.Aliens vs. Avengers #1
Disney, which owns Marvel Comics, bought a controlling stake in 20th Century Fox in 2019 to get back the Fantastic Four and the X-Men IPs. Disney also gained ownership of Aliens and Predator in the deal. In this story, the Xenomorphs have almost overtaken the Earth and only the Avengers stand in the way of their domination.

2. Aliens: the Original Years Omnibus, Vol. 1
Before Disney acquired the Alien license, Dark Horse Comics had the license for decades. Some of the best Alien comics ever were published by Dark Horse in the late 1980s. This omnibus collects some of the best stories published by Dark Horse in one collection. In these stories, Ripley and Newt try to destroy the Xenomorph homeworld as the Aliens infiltrate and overrun Earth.

The soldiers need the synths to go to world that may be overrun with Aliens to retrieve technology that could turn the tide of war.
